Rapid City

Rapid City – The Gateway to the Black Hills

A wonderful place to live, work and play!

From the Tour of Presidents to Dinosaur Hill; encompassing the miles of bike path and acres of beautiful parks, Rapid City has many great features.  Rapid City and the Black Hills have long been known for their unsurpassed natural beauty, recreation and great people.

We have enjoyed living in the Rapid City area. It is not big enough to have that “big city” feel and has the conveniences you won’t find in small town America (been there). The climate is enjoyable (except for this last winter – what’s up with that?) and a weekend vacation to the Hills or a day at the Lake is no more than an hour away.

The fact that Rapid City is located some distance from a major metropolitan area has allowed it to develop a character all its own — character that feels honesty and hard work are still important, and a person’s word still holds true.  Check out more about our great city!

Downtown Rapid City

Downtown Rapid City

Historical downtown Rapid City has something enjoyable for everyone. Unique shops, great tasting restaurants, hotels – even a trolley!   Watching over the corners are sculptures of the Presidents…hence, the City of Presidents.  Main Street Square is now under construction – an open park area to host open-air events, venues, and an ice rink in the winter.  Summer Nights feature music and entertainment each Thursday night during the summer.  There is always something going on downtown!

The Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota

The Black Hills

Who can not enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Black Hills – mixed with cool attractions and things to do. Mountain lakes and streams for fishing and recreation, hiking trails, rock climbing, and of course skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.  Or take a mini-vacation…It’s in your back yard.  Get almost anywhere in an hour!

Ellsworth AFB

One of the key elements to the health and economy of Rapid City is Ellsworth Air Force Base.  It is an honor to have men and women who serve their country living with us.  Soon to be part of the unmanned drone mission, we plan on seeing them around for many years.  And don’t forget about the Dakota Thunder Air Show.  Just don’t forget the sunscreen.
